About this site

Free, no-account printer test pages that render at your printer's true resolution.

What this is

A collection of printable diagnostic sheets for printers: nozzle checks, alignment grids, colour and CMYK separations, banding gradients and resolution charts. Everything is free, requires no account, and nothing you do is uploaded anywhere — the pattern is generated in your own browser and sent straight to your printer or your print-to-PDF driver.

Why vector instead of images

Most free test pages are fixed-resolution PNG files. A 300 DPI image printed at 1200 DPI is upscaled and blurred, which makes fine nozzle lines and resolution targets meaningless — you end up measuring the image rather than the printer.

Every sheet here is generated as SVG with a millimetre coordinate system, so one SVG unit equals exactly one millimetre. The printer driver rasterises that vector geometry at whatever native resolution the hardware actually supports. The same file is correct at 300, 600 or 1200 DPI, and on A4, Letter, Legal, A3 or A5 paper.

What is measured

  • Nozzle check — fine line rows per ink channel; gaps indicate clogged nozzles
  • Alignment — grid, crosshairs and registration marks for skew and margin errors
  • Colour / CMYK — channel bars, tint steps and overprints to isolate a failing ink
  • Gradient & banding — stepped ramp beside a continuous ramp, where banding actually shows
  • Resolution — line-pair targets and a type scale for effective DPI

Honest limitations

A test page can tell you that something is wrong and roughly where. It cannot tell you definitively whether a fault is a dried nozzle, a failing cartridge or a worn drum — those produce similar symptoms, and separating them needs the process of elimination: clean once, reprint, compare against the first sheet.

It also cannot make your screen match your paper. Screens emit RGB light; printers lay down ink on paper with a far smaller colour gamut. Judge consistency against your own previous output, not against the display.
